Dr. Prema Chande


Ph.D., M.Optom, FAAO, FIACLE, DBM

She has completed her Bachelor from Elite School of Optometry, from Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai and Masters from Lotus College of Optometry. She has been awarded Doctor of Philosopy degree from Chitkara University, Chandigarh. She has a long association with Lotus Eye Hospital and College of Optometry and has a major role in establishing the college. She has a rich experience in public health and various mega eye care projects were launched under her aegis. She has represented Lotus College in various national and international conferences and panels. Dr. Prema is also a National Task force committee member and has worked closely with the Center and professional bodies.

Dr. Hiral Korani


Ph. D., M.Optom, Ocularist

Dr. Hiral completed her Bachelors and Masters in Clinical Optometry from Lotus College of Optometry. She has been awarded doctor of Philosophy degree from Chitkara University, Chandigarh. She has also undertaken a course on fabricating customized ocular prosthesis in 2008,Madurai, India. Currently working as a Consultant Optometrist, Assistant professor and an Ocularist at Lotus Eye Hospital and College of optometry since 2006. Currently heading department of Custom made ocular prosthesis since 2008.

Dr. Neepa Thacker


Ph. D., M.Optom, Ocularist

Dr. Hiral completed her Bachelors and Masters in Clinical Optometry from Lotus College of Optometry. She has been awarded doctor of Philosophy degree from Chitkara University, Chandigarh. She has also undertaken a course on fabricating customized ocular prosthesis in 2008,Madurai, India. Dr. Pancham Kulkarni

Ph. D., M.Optom, FIACLE

Dr. Pancham has completed his Bachelor from Elite School of optometry in the year 2002 and Masters from The University of New South Wales, Australia in the year 2004. He has been awarded Doctor of Philosopy degree from Chitkara University, Chandigarh. He is associated with Lotus Eye Hospital and College of Optometry since 2004 and has been a pioneer in setting up different programs. Currently working as a Consultant Optometrist and Assistant professor and at Lotus Eye Hospital and College of Optometry since 2004.

Dr. Sandra Block



Dr. Sandra Block is Professor Emeritus at Illinois College of Optometry (ICO), President-elect of the World Council of Optometry and Global Clinical Advisor, Special Olympics Lions Clubs International Opening Eyes program. Dr. Block received her O.D. (1981) and Pediatric Residency (1982) at the ICO. She completed her Master of Education at National Louis University and Master of Public Health from University of Illinois. She is a Diplomate in Public Health at the American Academy of Optometry and Distinguished Fellow of the National Academy of Practice. She sits on the Prevent Blindness Board and has joined the VISION 2020 USA Board of Directors. Her interests lie in primary care for children, vulnerable populations, and persons with disabilities, as well as public health issues facing the equity and quality of eye care delivery. Block has authored numerous publications and conducted presentations worldwide. She is past co-chair of the National Center for Children’s Vision and Eye Health.

Dr. Mark E. Wilkinson, OD, FAAO


Dr. Wilkinson completed his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1980 from Illinois College of Optometry.  Dr. Wilkinson is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. He is also a member of the University of Iowa’s Institute for Vision Research and the National Advanced Driving Simulator. Dr. Wilkinson is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Wilkinson is a member of the Planning Committee of the National Eye Institute’s National Eye Health Education Program where he serves as the chair of the Vision Rehabilitation Sub Committee. Additionally, Dr. Wilkinson is a past chair of the Executive Committee of the Vision Rehabilitation Section of the American Optometric Association.  Dr. Wilkinson has authored both books and book chapters as well almost 50 articles in professional publications.  He has also lectured extensively both nationally and internationally on the care of individuals that are visually impaired and driving with a visual impairment. 


Dr. Grace Tran Chi


Dr. Tran Chi’s training has varied in many modalities of optometry such as private solo-practice, multi-specialty groups, and hospital settings. She has had clinical rotations at the Veteran’s Administration Health System VA Wilmington, DE and Eastern Blind Rehabilitation Center VA Connecticut, CT. During her doctoral training she received the William Feinbloom Low Vision Award for outstanding clinical work in the area of low vision. Her National Eye Institute funded research focusing on the spatial compression of the low vision telescope was published in the peer-reviewed journal Optometry Vision Sciences. She graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2008. Then completed a residency in Low Vision Rehabilitation at the SUNY College of Optometry and Lighthouse International (currently known as Lighthouse Guild) in New York, NY.

In her early career, Dr. Tran Chi was a Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology at the Oregon Health and Science University - Casey Eye Institute. She has lectured to her peers, colleagues, and the community about low vision and low vision advocacy. Dr. Tran Chi was also part of the early development of the Western Blind Rehabilitation Center at the VA Long Beach for their Low Vision and Brain Injury Residency Program in the Optometry Clinic.

Dr. Tran Chi is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She is the co-founder of Diamond Vision Eye Center in Pasadena, California where she currently works – it is a private optometry practice created to focus on caring for patients that have vision impairment.
